June 20, 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians,

There is nothing more important than the safety of our students and staff. With that in mind, I am writing to inform you that our school was placed in a lockdown at approximately 2:55 p.m. this afternoon as a precautionary measure in response to an online threat. Upon receiving this threat, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) were called immediately and lockdown procedures were followed. This precaution ensured that all staff and students were in a safe and secure location.

After receiving notification from police that staff and students were safe, the lockdown ended at approximately 3:30 p.m. DRPS has confirmed that there is no threat to the public’s safety and the source of the threat has been identified.

If anyone has additional concerns regarding safety here at the school at any time, please let me, or another trusted adult in the school know right away.

By working together, we can keep our school and community a safe place for our children.

Sincerely,

Ms. Melim,
Principal
