CABS Summer STEM Camp
Posted On Monday April 07, 2025
Durham Catholic District School Board's Coach/Advocate for Black Students (CABS) program is excited to offer three different Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) camps in partnership with Queen’s University, Ontario Tech University Engineering Outreach, and McMaster University.
Through this program, students will experience a community-orientated and accessible learning environment to explore different facets of STEM, coding, and engineering design. These programs will be led by Black facilitators, allowing youth to see themselves represented in STEM fields and experience positive mentorship while participating in various activities.
DCDSB elementary students currently enrolled in Grades 7 and 8, and secondary students currently enrolled in Grades 9 and 10 are invited to register. Space is limited, so please only register for one of the free camps being offered. While this is a camp facilitated by the CABS program, any and all students of the DCDSB in Grades 7 to 10 are welcomed to attend.
Each camp will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at St. James Catholic School (10 Clover Ridge Dr W, Ajax).
There are three sessions available:
- Week 1: July 7, 2025 - July 10, 2025 - Ontario Tech University and Queen's University
- Week 2: July 14, 2025 - July 17, 2025 - Ontario Tech University and Queen's University
