Head Start

Head Start is a summer transition program for students entering Grade 9. This program is offered at Notre Dame CSS in late August and gives students an overview of math and literacy, while providing study tips and strategies to achieve success in high school.  Students also receive an orientation and tour of the school and start to make new friends.

Students can register for Head Start through the Continuing and Adult Education website.

Summer School

Summer school is offered each July for students needing to recover courses that they were not successful in achieving throughout the school year or who are interested in accelerating.

  • Students may enrol in a credit recovery course if they obtained a mark between 35% and 49% throughout the school year.  These courses are approximately 2 weeks in length.
  • Students may enrol in an accelerated course (in class or online) if they have the appropriate prerequisite course.  These courses are approximately 4 weeks in length.
  • Cooperative education is also available at summer school.

Classes take place daily from 8:30 am to 2:40 pm.  The location varies each year.

Students can register for summer school through their Guidance Counsellor.
