Advanced Placement (AP)

AP gives students the chance to
tackle college-level work while they're still in high school
and potentially earn university credit and placement.

Notre Dame CSS offers the following AP courses:

  • English
    • Grade 12 ~ ENG4U2
  • Mathematics
    • Grade 10 ~ MPM2D2
    • Grade 11 ~ MCR3U2
    • Grade 12 ~ MHF4U2 (Advanced Functions) and MCV4U2 (Calculus & Vectors)

Students who join the program in grade 11 or 12 will be responsible for completing independent work to fill the gaps left by missing the previous course(s).  Students cannot take Calculus & Vectors unless they have taken the grade 10 AP course or completed the required work independently.

  • Science
    • Grade 10 ~ SNC2D2
    • Grade 11 ~ SBI3U2 (Biology), SCH3U2 (Chemistry), and SPH3U2 (Physics)
    • Grade 12 ~ SBI4U2 (Biology), SCH4U2 (Chemistry), and SPH4U2 (Physics)

Students who join the program in grade 11 will be at a disadvantage due to missed content that cannot be made up.  Students CANNOT join the program in grade 12.

Please Note:

  • if/when independent work is required, the teacher will assess what is required and provide work once the student begins their first AP course
  • the last digit of an AP course code is 2
